National Representative Report from the National AGM
This past AGM was my second and much of the ‘shock and awe’ that I experienced last year in Saskatoon had washed away into a new-found role of responsibility. As was the case last year, I found myself traveling to a city that I had never been in. Both Saskatoon and Winnipeg are flat, beige, full of surprises and excitement if you can find it, and offer some great opportunities to forge some stories and new friendships.

A big thank you to all who participated and came out to the Association BBQ! Good food, good people and good times. Judging by the feedback, it will be the first of many. We hope to have other associations involved in our next meet-up which we will try to get going sooner vs later.
Great feedback from the other associations in what could be the start of some meaningful relationships.

The July issue of GDC eNews includes informative articles on designing green, GDC’s new brand strategy initiative, helpful design tips, upcoming events, and sponsorship updates.
Thanks to Dave Coates (National Web Chair), Rod Roodenburg (National Communications Chair), and all the volunteers and contributors for producing this insightful and useful publication.
I just attended my third National AGM, and possibly the most exciting. There are fantastic things happening across the country and as a National body. It’s a great reminder that we are not only our rock. It’s also great to know that our chapter is very respected and many chapters have used us and our materials as inspiration and a model for how they operate as we have been inspired (and continue to be) by them.
