Jim Rimmer on Vancouver By Design

Jim Rimmer on Vancouver by DesignOur friend, colleague, mentor and teacher, Jim Rimmer, was recently interviewed by Vancouver by Design’s JJ Lee. From the Vancouver by Design Blog:

Typographer Jim Rimmer doles out hot type
Molten lead typecasting machines. Basement studio. Tons (metric?) of cast iron. What’s not to like? Jim Rimmer has been working in printing and typography for the last 50 years. And the last few years his dedicated self to the letterpress and limited edition books.

  1. Scott Gray Says:

There should be no question of an honorary fellowship for Jim. He continues to be an inspiration to font junkies, letterpress junkies and the like. C’mon folks, you can admit it…MET has worked with Jim on a number of pet projects over the years including a reproduction from the Gutenberg Bible a few christmas’s back. Some of you out there still have this Artwork hanging about. People talk about authenticity a lot these days. Take a page out of Jim’s book.

  2. Jarrett Martineau Says:

Does anyone know how to contact Jim regarding a letterpress printing request? Thanks & best.

  3. Mark Busse Says:

Instead of posting Mr. Rimmer’s personal contact information here, I’ll email you that information privately.
