I know. LOVE the piece. Too bad the paper company that distributes Fox River Paper in B.C. doesn’t make the same effort to contact the design community as often as Coast or Cascade Papers. Unisource, are you still out there?!?!?
December 17th, 2006 at 6:59 pm
{{Blush}} Thanks! I coulda sworn Cascades carried Fox River, but I was wrong. But then I thought maybe Coast, as Fox River is owned by Gilbert and I know my Gilbert samples are from Coast. No?? But if all else fails you can always order it directly from the lovely people at Fox River Paper. I mean … if you really feel the need. It’s almost worth it for the sugar emboss—you’ll see what I mean.

Marian, I’ve been on your site lately and have seen your work rise to international prominence. Kudos. I will contact my print sales rep tomorrow to get me one.

Thanks Marian. I checked with Coast and Unisource got Fox River & they got Gilbert/Strathmore. Weird. I called Unisource on Thursday and the guy in samples had no clue what I was talking about and promised to pass the message to the rep. Not holding my breath. No worries–www.paperspecs.com is one of my best friends. Hopefully, it’ll arrive before Christmas?!?
(Congrats once again!)

Wow Marian. Congrats! I feel like I know a superstar. We should talk about you visiting our little rock and doing a talk for our members. Maybe we can get our hands on a bunch of samples of that piece.

Contact Fox River US directly via their main website–I emailed my request and received it the very next day. It is SOOOOO beautiful, every designer in the world MUST have one. Congratulations Marian!!

Our Unisource spec rep Jody Brown got us samples of Marian’s swatchbook book. Awesome.

Thanks all; I’m really glad you liked it. Rick Valicenti deserves a ton of credit as well — He and Gina Vieceli-Garza at Thirst designed it.
Nancy, that is so weird about the split between the two companies, as Gilbert owns Fox River. But that explains my confusion about who, if anyone, would be carrying it.

I got my copy today (January 10) from Unisource in Toronto, along with the NUARS book. Beautiful work Marian! Perhaps this means the local Unisource rep will realize there are more than just a few design firms worth visiting here in the lower mainland…
