As filmmaking finds its way to the web, the notion of the “Designer as Auteur” has become increasingly relevant. Matthaeus will explore the concept of “Auteur Theory,” developed in the 1950’s by French film critics, in the context of changes in technology, collaboration and new media. The behind-the-scenes process at DIGITALKITCHEN reveals how Matthaeus sees the evolution of the auteur within contemporary media culture.
